Community Needs Analysis with Refugees: Exploring Access and Barriers to Higher Education in Ireland
Abstract
Developed by College Connect in partnership with the Irish Refugee Council, A Community Needs Analysis with Refugees and People Seeking Asylum (2021) investigates the opportunities and barriers that refugees and asylum seekers encounter in accessing higher education in Ireland. Drawing on community-based research, the report captures participants’ lived experiences and identifies systemic, financial, and social challenges to educational participation. Visitors to the webpage can explore the full report, background on the project, and related initiatives supporting equitable access to higher education for displaced learners. A summary report is also available. This resource highlights the importance of collaborative, evidence-informed approaches to inclusion within Irish tertiary education.
