The VPL #5 Biennale Podcast Project
Abstract
Another component of the VPL#5 Biennale was a podcast project, the goal of which was to collect real-time feedback from conference attendees regarding their discussions, learning, and sharing of insights. At the heart of this activity was an expansion of our knowledge of and insights into the principles, practices, challenges, and possibilities of VPL around the globe. In effect, the inclusion of the podcast project sought to facilitate an expanded scope of perspectives that may have otherwise been overlooked. We also hoped that the podcast as a distinctive form of engagement could elicit the kind of spontaneity and authenticity we hoped to achieve throughout the conference.
Andrew Skapenko (Thompson Rivers University, Canada), Rachel Kasten (Canadian student), and Maria Casey (Technological Higher Education Association, Ireland) organized and facilitated the podcast. They planned the content with the support of the conference committee and spoke to 37 conference attendees. Andrew Skapenko was the sound engineer.
