Author Biography

• Judith Anne Harris, Thompson Rivers University

  Judy Harris is an Adjunct Professor at Thompson Rivers University, British Columbia and a board member of the Prior Learning International Research Centre (PLIRC).  Her research interest in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) draws from the sociology of education. In recent years, she has acted as consultant to: the European Union and Ministry of National Education ‘Promotion of Lifelong Learning’ project in Turkey (2013); the RPL Ministerial Task Team of the South African Department of Higher Education and Training (2012), and the Namibian Training Authority (2011). Publications include two co-edited collections: Researching the Recognition of Prior Learning (2011) and Re-theorising the Recognition of Prior Learning (2006) both published by NIACE, and, with Linda Cooper, a forthcoming article in the International Journal of Lifelong Education entitled ‘Recognition of Prior Learning: Exploring the knowledge question.’
