Cedefop's "European Guidelines for Validating Non-Formal and Informal Learning"

PLA Inside Out

Abstract

PLAIO is pleased to include links to these publications developed by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop).

The guidelines (Cedefop, 2015) are written for individuals and institutions responsible for the initiation, development, implementation and operation of validation arrangements. They become even more important as countries face high adult and youth unemployment, individuals need career redirection, and as the European refugee crisis demands both social and economic integration. The overall goal of this work is “to develop and improve validation arrangements in Europe” (p. 6). The inventory (Cedefop 2014-2016) provides reports for individual European countries.
